OpenKey Signs Deal With Preferred Hotels & Resorts

Dallas-based mobile key software developer OpenKey has signed on hotel brand Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the company said Monday afternoon. As part of the partnership, the two said that properties within the Preferred Hotels & Resorts portfolio will get access to OpenKey's technology solution. OpenKey develops mobile apps which can unlock Bluetooth-based locks, which are beginning to see adoption in the hotel industry, and lets users check in without visiting the front desk, interact with staff, and more. Further details on the terms of the partnership were not announced by the companies. OpenKey is led by CEO TJ Person.
