    Airband Expands In Phoenix


    Dallas-based Airband Communications, a provider of fixed wireless Internet services, said Thursday that the firm has expanded its coverage into Phoenix. According to Airband, it is now providing its WiMAX-based services in the Greater Phoenix area, covering Scottsdale, Tempe, Deer Valley, Chandler, and Mesa. Airband's fixed wireless services are focused on connecting businesses to broadband service. The firm said that it has been in the Phoenix market since 2002. The latest expansion also included upgrades to equipment and network capacity in the area, the firm said.
