RenewData Takes On Archived Data

Austin-based RenewData, a provider of e-discovery software, said Wednesday that it has added a new product focused on archiving backup tapes and other storage media. According to RenewData, the new archiving product allows its clients to have a better insight into their most at-risk data. The archiving product, ActiveVault 4.0, allows users to consolidate, archive, and manage data from any media source, including backup tapes, which then allows users to enforce retention policies. The new solution addresses the legal issues companies have encountered with backup tapes, which are generally not indexed by e-discovery software but often requested in lawsuits, investigations, and audits.
