The Planet to Expand Dallas Data Center

Dedicated Internet hosting company The Planet reported Tuesday that it has expanded its Dallas D6 data center to accommodate another 12,000 square feet of floor space. Once the new space is online in November, the Houston-based company said, its total operational footprint will rise to some 167,000 square feet. Six of The Planet's six data centers are located in Dallas; the other two are in Houston. The Planet is a privately held company that currently hosts more than 22,000 small- and medium-sized businesses and some 6.7 million Web sites.
