Bazaarvoice Opens French Office, Signs Fnac.com

Austin, Texas-based Bazaarvoice, a publisher of hosted social commerce software, reported Monday that it has opened an office in Paris that will serve as its headquarters for operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Bazaarvoice said Kamal Kirpalani, a 10-year EMEA sales and business development veteran, will manage the outfit. In a related announcement, Bazaarvoice said Fnac.com, a France-based distributor of books, music CDs and electronic equipment, has chosen Bazaarvoice's Ratings & Reviews application to replace its in-house online customer loyalty analysis software. The financial impact of Bazaarvoice's customer win was not disclosed. Fnac operates 69 shops in France, plus some 41 outlets throughout Belgium, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland and Greece.
