CompuCom to Buy Getronics’ North American Operations

Dallas-based IT outsourcing firm CompuCom Systems Inc. announced Monday that it will acquire the North American operations of Getronics, an international IT services provider. The acquisition comprises Getronics’ operations in Canada and the United States and its global service center in Mexico. Terms of the cash-and-equity deal were not disclosed. CompuCom said Getronics will become a minority equity owner, while AlpInvest Partners NV and Court Square Capital, which are helping to finance the transaction, will be minority equity investors. In a related development, CompuCom said it has formed a global strategic partnership with Getronics in which CompuCom would contract with the European firm for CompuCom clients who desire workspace management services outside of North America. Similarly, CompuCom said it will be the preferred North American provider for Getronics’ clients.
