Media Excel Gets Investment From McCombs

Media Excel Inc., a provider of software that translates encoded video content so it can be displayed on any device, announced Tuesday that businessman Red McCombs has increased his level of investment in the company. A specific dollar amount was not disclosed. McCombs is co-founder of broadcast media giant Clear Channel Communications. McCombs also has investments in the automotive, energy and real estate sectors, Media Excel said. Founded in 2000, Media Excel is a privately held company based in Austin, Texas.
