    Microtune Introduces TV Tuner Chips

Microtune Inc. has introduced two MoCA-compatible, 1.1-GigaHertz TV tuner chips, the company revealed Monday. When paired with advanced 1-GHz set-top boxes, the chips enable cable and satellite providers to deliver content to customers’ homes through preexisting coaxial cabling, thus satisfying the Multimedia over Coax Alliance specification. The chips, known as the MT2022 DOCSIS Set-top Gateway Tuner and the MT2122 Analog/Digital Video Tuner, are the industry’s first 1.1-GHz tuners. Based in Plano, Texas, Microtune designs and markets radio frequency products for the broadband communications and transportation electronics industries.
