SoftLayer Opens Silicon Valley Data Center

Dallas-based web hosting provider SoftLayer has opened up a new data center facility, in the heart of Silicon Valley. According to SoftLayer, it has opened up its first, California data center in San Jose, California, with capacity for more than 12,000 servers. The firm said the new data center brings its total capacity up to 155,000 servers across 11 data centers. SoftLayer said it opened the new data center due to customers in the region, plus to provide better experience to end users in the area.
