Dallas-based SoftLayer, a provider of web hosting services, said Monday that the firm has begun offering servers using Intel's latest Xeon (Nehalem) 5500 processors. SoftLayer said by offering the new processors, the firm's users will see up to 125% better computer performance using the same power consumption. SoftLayer operates data centers in Dallas, Seattle, and Washington, DC.
