Silicon Labs Wins Smart Meter Developer
Austin-based analog and mixed signal semiconductor developer Silicon Labs reported a design win today with smart meter maker Robulink, which provides smart meters in the Southeast Asian, China, and Australian markets. Silicon Labs said it is providing sub-GHz wireless connectivity technology to Robulink, to allow those smart meters to communicate. Silicon Labs' technology is being used to power the wireless signaling into the mesh networks that Robulink has designed into their meters. Many smart meter makers have adopted the use of wireless mesh networks to communicate meter information back to utilities. Silicon Labs did not disclose any anticipated shipment volumes with Robulink.
