Silicon Labs Tops 100 Million TV Tuners Shipped

Austin-based Silicon Labs says that it has just shipped its one hundred millionth silicon TV tuner, the components it sells for use in digital television sets. According to Silicon Labs, its components have now been adopted by "virtually all" of the name-brand TV makers, who have switched to the company's silicon-based tuners to replace traditional, tuner modules in televisions. The company's components are used to decode a long list of worldwide, TV broadcast standards for both analog and digital television.
