Silicon Labs Buys Ember

Austin-based Silicon Labs said this morning that it has acquired Ember, a developer of 2.4 Ghz, wireless mesh networking hardware. Silicon Labs said it would pay $72M for Ember, plus un-specified earnout. Silicon Labs said it expects Ember to contribute approximately $10-$12M in revenue in the second half of 2012. Ember was based in Boston. The firm's technology was used to create wireless mesh networks.
