Silicon Laboratories Licenses Technology To Chinese Firm
Austin-based Silicon Laboratories said Wednesday that it is in a patent licensing and royalty deal with Chinese semiconductor firm RDA Microelectronics. Financial details of the license were not disclosed. According to Silicon Laboratories, the license grants RDA a limited license to its portfolio of FM radio patents. The firm said it has over 1,000 patents and patent applications related to mixed signal ICs and RF and radio designs. RDA Microelectronics develops FM radio receivers, DVB-S satellite tuners, power amplifiers, and Bluetooth systems-on-a-chip.
