Austin-based Silicon Laboratories said today that it has acquired Silicon Clocks, a Silicon Valley firm developing microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology for timing. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to Silicon Laboratories, the buy will augment its R&D team and bring 20 key patents to the company. Silicon Clocks was backed by Tallwood Venture Capital, Charles River Ventures, Formative Ventures, Lux Capital and Silicon Labs.
