ShopSavvy Updates iOS App
Dallas-based ShopSavvy said Thursday that it has released a new version of its barcode scanning app to Apple's App Store. The app, which allows users to scan barcodes and get price comparisons, now features both UPC and QR codes on the screen. The firm said that although it has been supporting scanning QR codes with its app, users did not realize the application supported the 2D barcodes. The firm also released a number of bug fixes and updates to features. QR codes are 2D barcodes, originally developed in Japan, which have begun to become popular in the U.S. Those codes usually link to websites to get more information about products.
