Servergy Ties With Storage Software Firm Inktank

Dallas-based Servergy, the developer of power optimized servers for the data center market, said today that it has inked with storage software developer Inktank, to develop a new, high density cloud storage solution. According to the two, they have combined to use Inktank's Ceph massively scalable storage software with Servergy's servers, to create a reference implementation of Ceph. Servergy develops Linux-based, highly efficient servers specifically for data center applications, cooling, space, weight, and carbon footprint by up to 80 percent or more. Financial details of the link between the companies were not announced.
