RetailMeNot Shines Light On Teachers, Education

RetailMeNot is shining the light on the woes of the nation's teachers, in a new campaign it launched today called "Do The Math". RetailMeNot said it would be launching a campaign to review of the costs associated with education in the United States, and shine a light on the impact that cuts to education funding are having--particularly on teachers. The online campaign includes a video contest to provide a teacher with a 3-minute Costco shopping spree; a Facebook and Twitter effort; publishing of a special report on the impact of budget cuts on schoolteachers, and more. RetailMeNot said it found that nearly 9 in 10 teachers are reaching into their own pockets to pay for classroom supplies. RetailMeNot, based in Austin, provides an online coupon site, which is used by shoppers to find coupons and deals. The company's target demographic includes both families and teachers who would have an interest in education.
