RetailMeNot In Deal With Major Mall Owner
Austin-based digital coupon site and app provider RetailMeNot said Tuesday that it has linked up with a large mall owner on a deal to help market the mall's retailers and properties. According to RetailMeNot, it signed a strategic partnership agreement with General Growth Properties, a real estate investment trust which is based in Chicago, which owns 120 malls across 40 states. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. RetailMeNot will be the preferred digital coupon provider across GGP's many malls, which include everything from the big Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, the Water Tower Place in Chicago, and the Glendale Galleria in Los Angeles, California. The move apaprently also includes testing of in-mall marketing formats by RetailMeNot to help mall retailers increase their foot traffic and store sales, as well as location-based mobile ads and offers.
