RetailMeNot.com Sees Surge In Coupon Usage
Austin-based RetailMeNot.com, the online coupon site owned by WhaleShark Media, reported today that it find that there has been a 23 percent jump in online coupon usage leading up to the holidays. Among other trends, RetailMeNot said that more users are searching for free shipping deals this year versus last year. The company also said it tapped Ipsos to survey its users on their preferences, finding that its users are most interested in free shipping (26 percent of useres), followed by percentage off offers (23 percent), buy one get one free (20 percent) and dollar amount coupons (18 percent). WhaleShark is backed by Austin Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Adams Street Partners, Google Ventures, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, and Institutional Venture Partners (IVP).
