Report: Dell Set To Cut 2,000 Jobs After EMC Merger
A report, from Bloomberg, says that Round Rock-based Dell Technologies plans to cut at least 2,000 jobs, and as many as 3,000 jobs, after acquiring EMC. Dell and EMC--which completed their long awaited merger on Wednesday--now have a total of around 14,000 employees. The Bloomberg report cited "people familiar with the company's plans" in its report. It's unclear from reports on how many of those 2,000 to 3,000 jobs would be in the Austin area, versus EMC's former Massachusetts headquarters.
