Rackspace Expands OpenStack Certification Effort

San Antonio-based Rackspace is adding further support to the OpenStack open cloud computing initiative today, saying that it has expanded its certification program for OpenStack. OpenStack is the cloud computing industry effort originally spawned from Rackspace, which allows any ISP to host cloud computing applications in a portable and fluid way. Rackspace said it is offering both public and private classes to teach students to learn how to use and operate OpenStack technology in public and private cloud environments; the firm said that it has been running its programs since 2011, and has trained "hundreds" of students.
