Outbox Gets $5M For Mail Sorting Service

Austin-based Outbox, a service which picks up your postal mail, and automatically sorts junk mail, digitizes bills, and allows you to view your mail on your iPhone or iPad, has raised $5M in a funding round. The funding came from Mike Maples of Floodgate, Peter Thiel and Brian Singerman at Founders Fund, along with Correlation VC, TDF Ventures, WTI, Expansion VC, Joel Peterson Capital, and Emerge DE. According to the firm the funding will towards expanding its team, and opening up service in San Francisco. Outbox was founded by Will Davis and Evan Baehr, who met while at Harvard.
