Austin-based OneSpot, which develops online advertising and social marketing software, said today that it has named Steve Sachs as its new CEO. Sachs is the former Executive Vice President, Consumer Marketing and Sales at the Time Inc. division of Time Warner. OneSpot has previously President of the Time Inc. Lifestyle Group, which includes Real Simple, Cooking Light, Southern Living, MyRecipes, and was President of Real Simple. The company said founder Matt Cohen shifts to President as part of the move. OneSpot is backed by the Central Texas Angel Network, Silver Creek Technology Investors, and Mike Maples. The firm is using big data and software for ad retargeting and optimization.
