NextIO Release Flash Storage Array
Austin-based NextIO, a developer of storage virtualization and I/O products, announced today that it has launched a new flash storage array, the vSTOR S100. The firm said its product uses technology from flash disk drive provider Fusion-io to deliver what it says is the "highest-performing" flash-based storage product on the market. The firm said it provides a capacity of five terabytes of storage and 1.7 million IOPS performance on its array. NextIO's products redirect disk drive operations to very fast flash drives, instead of spinning platters. The firm said database applications, Microsoft Exchange and other email applications, high performance computing, and game hosting and video demand are best suited for its products.
