    Patient IO Acquired By Athenahealth
    Austin-based health startup Patient IO (Filament Labs), which develops a mobile software application to help healthcare providers engage with patients and caregivers, has been acquired by Athenahealth, Athenahealth said on Monday.     Zahroof Valves Secures Distributor In Australia, New Zealand
    Houston-based Zahroof Valves, the venture-backed developer of valves use in reciprocating gas compressors, has signed up a distributor in Australia and New Zealand. The company--backed by Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures and NGP Energy Technology Partners--said Drivetrain Power and Propulsion will be the sole distributor of its products in Australia and New Zealand. The company's valves are used in the oil and gas market.

    SoftNAS Wins Fiber Provider
    Houston-based software-based network attached storage (NAS) provider SoftNAS says that it has been selected by fiber provider US Signal, as part of that company's cloud storage efforts. FInancial impact of the win was not announced. According to the two, US Signal was looking for a provider of S3-compatible cloud storage via a virtual appliance supporting NFS. US Signal has around 14,000 route miles of fiber in the Midwest.

    Rackspace Acquired For $4.3B By Apollo Global
    San Antonio-based Rackspace said late Friday that it has agreed to be acquired by private equity investor Apollo Global Management, in a deal worth $4.3 billion. Rackspace said Apollog GLobal will pay $32.00 per share in cash for Rackspace, with an additional strategic equity investment in the company by Searchlight Capital Partners, L.P.
