    Everfest Takes $1.5M For Online, Mobile Festival Discovery
    Austin-based Everfest, a new start created by the founders of uShip and TicketBud, said Monday that it has raised $1.5M in an angel funding round. The funding round included ATX Seed Ventures, plus angels like Bob Kagle, along with others. The startup said it is looking to build the world's most comprehensive community of festivals and festival goers, letting users discover and share festivals--ranging from music festivals and book fairs to comicĀ­con (More info...)

    Alpheus Communications Expands Into Austin
    Houston-based fiber network operator Alpheus Communications said this morning that it is expanding its fiber network into downtown Austin, adding access to around 1,800 buildings in Austin's central business district as part of a fiber expansion. The expansion also included network extensions in Dallas and Houston. The company said the total net-near buildings in the expansion is just over 6,000 in total between the three markets.

    Zenoss Wins TuneIn
    Austin-based Zenoss, which develops IT and cloud monitoring software, said Friday that it has scored a win with audio service TuneIn. Zenoss said TuneIn has upgraded from the open source, Zenoss Core to its commercial offering, Zenoss Service Dynamics. Financial impact of the win was not announced.     Khorus Raises $4M For Management Software For CEOs
    Austin-based Khorus, a developer of CEO business management software, has raised $4M in a Series A funding, the company said this morning. The funding came from Joel Trammell--the company's founder--as well as angel Tom Greig. Khorus said it has now raised $6M in total. Trammell was the CEO of NetQOS, co-founded Cache IQ, and also cofounded private equity firm Lone Rock Technology Group.
