    Seismos Scores $4M For Oil, Gas Monitoring
    Austin-based Seismos, a developer of remote oil and gas flow monitoring technology, has raised $4M in a funding round, the company said this week. The funding was led by Javelin Venture Partners, and also included Osage University Partners, Kemal Farid (Merrick Systems); Donald Kendall (Blue Earth Capital); and Geoff Hicks (Hicks Oilfield LLC).     Daegis Bolsters Board
    Irving, Texas-based Daegis, which develops archiviing, ediscovery, and other related software, said late yesterday that it has named Darrell Montgomery to its board of directors. Montgomery has previously served at Gemini Consulting, and has an extensive list of positions at Dell Services (Perot Systems). The company said that Montgomery replaces Tery Larrew, who is retiring from the company's board after 12 years of service.

    NIMBOXX Names Two New VPs
    Austin-based converged infrastructure developer NIMBOXX said Thursday that it has named two VPs. NIMBOXX said it has named Tejas Vakil as its Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Andy Salo as Vice President of Product Management. Vakil previously has served at Dell, Compaq, Arvato (Bertelsmann), and Tandem, as well as number of startups; Salo has served at CloudXtream, Inktomi, Decru, TippingPoint, and SolarWinds.

    Malauzai Powers Apple Watch Apps For Banks
    Austin-based Malauzai Software reports today that five, community banks are launching Apple Watch apps, thanks to the company's software. Malauzai said that its SmartwearApp helps banks provide their customers with the ability to check balances, view transactions, and find local branches easily through the Apple Watch, plus also provide advertising and educational alerts. Malauzai said it will have eight community banks and credit unions with Apple Wa (More info...)
