    SoftLayer Plans Giant Data Center In Australia
    Dallas-based SoftLayer, the cloud hosting company which is now part of IBM, is planning to launch its first, Australian data center in September. According to IBM, its first, Australian data center will be in Melbourne, and will help to extend local cloud computing capabilities in Australia.     AirStrip Finds $25M More
    San Antonio-based AirStrip, the developer of mobile healthcare applications, has scored a big strategic funding, saying this morning that it has raised $25M in a funding round. According to Airstrip, the strategic funding was led by the Gary and Mary West Health Investment Fund, Sequoia Capital and Wellcome Trust, and also included Sequoia Capital, Wellcome Trust, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and Qualcomm Inc., along with new investors Dignit (More info...)

    Dell Ventures Into Lastline
    Round Rock-based Dell, has led an investment round in a developer of malware protection software based in Silicon Valley, via its venture capital arm, Dell Ventures. According to Redwood City, California-based Lastline, Dell led a $10M investment round, along wide Presidio Ventures, and which also included Report Ventures and e.venture. Lastline is developing software for malware defense.

    Asure Software: No More Buddy Punching Time Clocks
    No more punching your buddies into work early! Austin-based workplace management software developer Asure Software announced a new product today, which uses facial recognition to "punch in" workers. Asure Software said its new AsureForce AirClock uses biometric technology, which uses both PIN entry and facial recognition technology to punch in workers.
