![]() Tuesday, January 29, 2013 Disney Shuts Austin Studio Walt Disney Co. has closed down its Austin, Texas videogame development studio, Junction Point, after poor sales of the title developed by the studio. Austin's Junction Point developed "Epic Micke 2: The Power of Two", a videogame for the Wii and other platforms. Disney did not say how many jobs were lost in the shutdown. The deal came after a number of months of back and forth between the companies, after an unsolicited offer by Actian in August of last year for around $154M. The firm said the new version includes such features as pulling important identity data at "sub-millisecond response times" and load distribution and fail-over features.
