    Dell Buys Credent
    Round Rock-based Dell said Tuesday that it has acquired Addison, Texas-based Credant Technologies, a provider of data protection software. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Dell said that Credent's data protection solutions to control, manage and secure data sent from endpoints to servers, storage and the cloud would bolster its computing solutions.     BioWare Sets Star Wars: The Old Republic Expansion
    Austin-based game developer BioWare, the studio of Electronic Arts which is behind Star Wars: The Old Republic, said Tuesday that it is launching the first, digital expansion of the title in the spring.     Pervasive Software Launches MySQL Metering App
    Pervasive Software, the developer of cloud-based database management products, said today that it has launched a new product which allows software-as-a-service vendors to meter data access to MySQL databases. The firm said its new Pervasive UseaBiLLity allows vendors to measure, and bill for access to MySQL databases.     Ortho Kinematics Gets $2M
    Austin-based Ortho Kinematics announced this morning that it has raised $2M in a funding round, as part of a Series B funding. Source of the funding was not announced. According to the company, the new funds will go towards commercialization of its VMA (Vertebral Motion Analysis) technology. That technology is being aimed at capturing and tracking the movement of a patient's spine, to help improve the diagnosis and treatment of back pain.
