    Dallas Cowboys Win At Social Media
    Who is the best team in the NFL--for social media? According to a report this week, it's the Dallas Cowboys, based on how much success they have gaining followers on Facebook and Twitter. The Cowboys came out on top of an analysis by social benchmarking firm Unmetric published in Mashable.     Compass Learning Sets Sales VP
    Austin-based K-12 educational software developer Compass Learning said today that it has named Thomas Rizzi as its Vice President of Sales. Rizzi was most recently at WorkflowOne, and also has served at Boundless Network and Graphic Packaging International. Compass Learning said it is looking to tap Rizzi's prior experience in scaling sales organizations.

    Dell Gets Into Social Media Consulting
    Round Rock-based Dell announced this morning that it is launching a new Social Media Services effort, where it will help its customers integrate social media into their enterprises. Dell said those services include helping customers to create "listening command centers", providing social media advisory services, helping with competitive monitoring of competitors, and best practice seminars.

    Tyler Technologies Wins Customer In Virginia
    Dallas-based government and municipal software developer Tyler Technologies reported a win with Loudoun County, Virginia today, saying that the county will use its CLT Appraisal Services to enhance the accuracy of its real estate data. Financial impact of the contract was not announced. Tyler said the deal includes onsite physical inspections and use of its service to capture street-front imaging of residential structures.

    HomeAway In Chinese Listings Deal
    Austin-based HomeAway, the online vacation rental marketplace, said today that it is in a deal to offer up property listings to Chinese travelers through Tujia.com. HomeAway said the deal extends an investment it made in Tujia.com earlier this year. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed.     Pivot3 Claims Revenue Gains
    Privately held video surveillance systems developer Pivot3 said today that it is on its way to doubling its prior year revenues, with 2012 third quarter year-to-date revenues "significantly exceeding" its full 2011 fiscal year. The company did not announce any actual financials.
