    Houston, Dallas Among Top Technology Jobs Locations
    A report released earlier this month finds that both Houston and Dallas are among the top cities for technology jobs. According to CyberCoders, an IT recruitment firm, Houston had the biggest percentage increase in open technology jobs listings from 2010 to 2011, rising 149 percent, beating out San Jose, Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, and Atlanta, among others. Dallas was number 4 in the list, with 27 percent increase in technology jobs listings during the period. CyberCoders

    TI To Chop 500 In Houston
    Dallas-based Texas Instruments, the developer of semiconductors, is cutting 500 jobs in Stafford, as the company said it would be closing the semiconductor manufacturing plant by the end of the year. Texas Instruments said Monday that it would be shutting down two plants, including both the plant just outside of Houston, as well as another factory in Japan.     Dell, SUSE Linux In Partnership
    Enterprise users of the SUSE Linux Enterprise operating system running on Dell hardware now have the option to pre-load and pre-configure their systems with the Linux distribution, the two said today, after inking a partnership deal.     Caringo Upgrades Storage Software
    Austin-based < ahref="http://www.caringo.com">Caringo, the developer of object-based storage software headed by Mark Goros, announced today that it has upgraded its flagship software. The firm said its updated Caringo Object Storage Platform 5.5 adds increased service and support functions, reporting and management capabilities, among other features.
