    Texas Technology Firms Make Inc. 500

    A number of Texas companies in the technology sector have made Inc. magazine's annual Inc. 500 list of fastest growing companies. According to the Inc. 500 listing, Sugar Land-based mass notification provider TechRadium was the highest ranked Texas technology firm listed, with 5,761% in three year growth, and $8.7M in revenues.     Starmount Snags Oracle Vet As President
    Austin-based Starmount, a developer of digital signage products, said today that it has named Jerry Rightmer to President of the firm. The company said that Rightmer was most recently at Oracle, where he was Vice President of Retail Application Strategy. He has also served at 360Commerce. Starmount also said Rightmer has almost 20 years of retail industry knowledge and technical expertise, and will oversee the firm's product vision and technology strategy.

    Dell Claims Gains In Reducing Packaging Waste
    Round Rock-based Dell said today that it has eliminated use of about 18.2 million pounds of packaging, since 2008, as part of its corporate responsibility efforts. Dell said the gains came from reducing the size of product packaging and increased the amount of recycled content in its packaging, and is aimed at making its product packaging more convenient for customers and less impactful on the planet.     RF Monolithics Gets Investment From Murata Electronics
    Dallas-based RF Monolithics announced today that it Murata Electronics North America has purchased a nearly $700K stake in the firm, as part of a collaboration agreement. According to RF Monolithics, Murata purchase 533,000 shares of its common stock at $1.31 per share. RFM said the deal covers exploration on how the two firms can cooperate to provide additional products and services to their customers.     Buffalo Updates DriveStation
    Austin-based Buffalo Technology, the developer of networking accessories and storage products, said Monday that it has refreshed its DriveStation line of storage products. According to the firm, the firm has introduced DriveStation Axis, a single drive product, and has refreshed its DriveStation Quad 4-drive, RAID product, and updated its DriveStation Duo dual-drive storage products.
