    HomeAway Buys South American Vacation Site
    Austin-based HomeAway said Tuesday that it has made another acquisition, this time of a South American vacation rental site. HomeAway said it acquired Qualimídia Veiculação e Divulgação Ltda, publisher of AlugueTemporada.com.br, which operates a vacation rental site in Brazil. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. HomeAway said that AlgueTemporada.com.br will continue to operate as an independent brand.

    Tech Wildcatters Launches Seed Investment Fund, Startup Accelerator
    Dallas-based Tech Wildcatters said Tuesday that it has launched a new, seed investment fund and startup accelerator, aimed at bolstering the North Texas technology start-up community. According to the accelerator, it is headed by Gabriella Draney, former an Associate at HP Growth Partners, and also involves Jon Feld, founder of Navigator Systems. Tech Wildcatters said it will offer 12-week, boot camps biannually, and provide $20,00 to $25,00 in fun (More info...)

    CheapTweet Launches Updated Social Deals Site
    Austin-based CheapTweet, an online site focused on spotlighting coupon deals posted to Twitter, said it has updated its site. The firm said it has upgraded its search engine, voting mechanism, and has also added a new "DealStream" to allow users to track specific categories of deals, brands, merchants, or keywords. The site said it is now indexing approximately 30,000 tweets each day.

    OnAsset In Marketing, Distribution Deal For Sensor Technology
    Irving-based OnAsset Intelligence, a developer of machine-to-machine (m2M) wireless asset tracking products, said today that it has licensed sensor technology from United States Semiconductor (US-Semi) and NxGen Electronics. Financial details of that licensing were not announced. OnAsset said that the license covers technology to sense for explosives, chemical and biological agents, biological cargo, and illegal drugs, and will be integrated with the firm's wireless SENTRY device for moni (More info...)

    Optimal Solutions Buys SAP Consulting Firm
    Irving-based Optical Solutions Integration, a provider of SAP consulting services, said today that it has acquired fellow consulting firm Budgetec, LLC, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Both firms provide consulting to companies using SAP for their operations.

    RFM Wins Medical Device Manufacturer
    Dallas-based RF Monolithics said today that the firm has signed a multi-year agreement, with a manufacture or medical equipment. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. According to RFM, the agreement calls for the medical equipment manufacturer to use its ultra-low power short-range radio and transceivers. RF Monolithics makes products for the wireless application industry, including for industrial wireless sensor networks and machine-to-machine (M2M) technology.
