    Revere Security Taps Cryptography Expert As Exec
    Dallas-based Revere Security, a developer of cryptographic data security software, said late last week that it has named cryptography expert Whitfield Diffie as the firm's Chief Cryptographer. Diffie is the co-inventor of the widely used Diffie-Hellman protocol, which is used for public key cryptography.     ACS Acquisition By Xerox Completes
    The acquisition of Dallas-based Affiliated Computer Services has completed, according to acquiring firm Xerox. Xerox--which originally announced the acquisition of ACS in September--said that ACS will initially be renamed as ACS, A Xerox Company, and will continue to be headed by Lynn Blodgett, current President and CEo of ACS. The deal is worth approximately $6.4 billion. Xerox said the move will make it a $22 billion company.

    The Planet Targets $7M In Network Investments
    Houston-based IT hosting provider The Planet said today that it plans to spend more than $7M to enhance its network in Houston and Dallas. According to The Planet, the investment in network capacity upgrades, infrastructure, new routers, and switches, will be in its core Houston and Dallas data centers.     Convio: More Than $250M For Haiti Relief
    Austin-based Convio, a developer of software used by nonprofits to manage their fundraising and other efforts, announced today that the firm's customers have so far raised more than $250M for efforts to aid victims of the Haiti earthquake. The firm said that compares to $575.4M in total estimated by the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University to have been raised so far for Haiti relief efforts.
