    Layered Technologies Raises $20M
    Plano-based Layered Technologies, a provider of dedicated hosting and cloud computing services, said this morning that it has raised $20M in an equity round. The round was led by private equity firm Accel-KKR, and also included prior investors Enhanced Equity Fund and Pangloss International. Layered said the funding will go towards funding growth and expansion of its services. Layered also specifically said it would fund an "aggressive" strategic acquisition program.

    Troux Signs Cosmetics Firm
    Austin-based Troux said today that it has signed on Beiersdorf, a major skin and beauty care manufacturer, as a client. According to Troux, Beiersdorf is using its software to help in its IT and enterprise planning. Beiersdorf is behind brands NIVEA, Eucerin, and La Prairie. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. Beiersdorf AG is based in Hamburg, Germany.

    ACS Wins CHP
    Dallas-based Affiliated Computer Systems reported today that its latest customer is the California Highway Patrol. The firm said it won a contract, potentially worth as much as $53M over nine years, to implement a computer-aided dispatch solution.

    Interphase Links With Mindspeed On LTE Product
    Plano-based Interphase, a developer of networking cards and related products, is working with semiconductor supplier Mindspeed on an a new wireless base station product. According to the firms, Interphase is using Mindspeed's baseband processors on its iSPAN 36701 Wireless base Station Advanced Mezzanine Card.
