    ACS Buys Pharmacy Business
    Dallas-based Affiliated Computer Services said Wednesday that the firm has acquired Pharm/DUR Inc., a provider of pharmacy audit and verification servies. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. ACS said that Pharm/DUR had revenues for the last twelve months ending April 2009 of $6M. Pharm/DUR provides auditing of pharmacies, to stop fraud and correlate pharmacy benefit management programs with actual paid claims.

    eCardio Gains Funding
    The Woodlands-based eCardio Diagnostics, a developer of services for monitoring cardiac arrhythmia, said today that it has received a "significant" round of investment funding from Sequoia Capital. Amount of the minority investment was not disclosed. According to eCardio, the round was the first institutional funding for the firm, and would be go to strengthen its technology offering. The firm was founded in 2004.

    ResearchPoint Names VP
    Austin-based contract research organization ResearchPoint reported this morning that Becky Causey has come aboard as the firm's vice president of clinical operations. ResearchPoint noted that she will oversee its clinical operations, project management and monitoring groups. Before joining ResearchPoint, Causey worked at INC Research as vice president of clinical development, and has also served PPD as executive director of project management.

    eGistics Names CFO
    Dallas-based document management software publisher eGistics reported this morning that it has hired long-time EDS executive Timothy J. Kick as chief financial officer. eGistics said Kick will oversee financial planning and numerous accounting functions while reporting to Bob Lund, the company's chairman and chief executive. Before joining eGistics, the Dallas-based business noted, Kick was CFO of Electronic Data Systems' Financial Services Industry group. Kick's prior positions at EDS al (More info...)
