![]() Monday, June 29, 2009 Dell Claims Strong School Interest In Netbooks Round Rock-based Dell is reporting today that it is seeing "strong interest" in a new netbook that the firm is aiming at K-12 students, and has now signed up more than 500 school districts as purchasers of its netbook product. Dell said the schools are buying its Latititude 2100 netbook, which it launched last month. According to Sharklet, Limestone Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm based in Austin, is leading the round for its funding, which is expected to close this month. Sharklet is developing a surface which inhibits microorganism growth. According to Silicon Labs, its new chip is targeted at allowing TV makers to improve picture quality and reception in their designs. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed.
