    Three Texas Firms Head To DEMO
    Three Texas firms are headed to the DEMOfall launch conference next week, including Austin's Microstaq, Houston-based Rudder Inc., and Dallas-based OpenACircle.com. The three will be among 72 companies launching their products at the show, which has traditionally been a big launching point of technology companies to the technology and mainstream press.     Intervoice Acquisition Closes
    Convergys Corporation said Thursday that the firm has closed its acquisition of Dallas-based Intervoice, a publisher of interactive voice response software. The deal was worth $335M in cash, or $8.25 per share. Convergys said it would buy Intervoice in July. Impact of the deal on local employment was not disclosed.     DG FastChannel, Enliven Reduce Acquisition Price
    Dallas-based DG FastChannel has reduced the acquisition price of Enliven Marketing Technologies to approximately $80M, the firms said, in an amended merger agreement. Reason for the reduced price was not announced; the firms had originally announced DG FastChannel would buy Enliven in a stock-for-stock transaction in May, in what was a $98M deal.     Transverse Launches Open Source Telecom Software Firm
    Austin-based Transverse said today that it has officially launched the firm, and will focus on open source, telecom operational support systems. According to the firm, the company's products will offer better quality, higher reliability, more flexibility, lower cost, and end to vendor lock-in for telecom support systems. The firm said it is planning on introducing its products next week at CTIA.
