    Tek-Tools Scores Win With Sun
    Dallas-based IT and storage management software firm Tek-Tools Software announced Monday that the firm has inked an expanded strategic alliance with Sun Microsystems. According to Tek-Tools, Sun will promote and sell its Tek-Tools Profiler Suite of monitoring and reporting software. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Sun will be selling Tek-Tools alongside its Sun common Array Manager software, which is used to manage Sun's storage arrays.

    Planview Shops MPM Division to Deltek
    Austin-based portfolio management software publisher Planview announced Tuesday that it has sold the bulk of its Micro-Frame Program Manager division to Deltek Inc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Planview said divesting its MPM product line will allow it to focus on its core enterprise portfolio management business.     EDS Gets Renewal
    IT outsourcing firm EDS revealed Tuesday that the nation's largest privately owned department store chain has renewed its information technology services contract with EDS. Under the new, seven-year agreement, EDS said, it will continue to manage the voice and data network that connects employees at Belk's 307 retail stores, five warehouses and five offices throughout the southern United States.     IRM Corp. Acquired By Software Firm
    Dallas-based IRM Corp. has officially been acquired by AFS Technologies Inc. of Phoenix, AFS announced Tuesday. IRM publishes business intelligence, forecasting and trade promotion management software-as-a-service applications for manufacturers, distributors and brokers within the food and beverage industry.     BMC Rolls Virtualization Management Software
    Houston-based BMC Software has rolled out a new, virtualization management product focused on virtualized IT systems, the firm said today. BMC said it has rolled out nine new software products focused on planning, controlling, automating, and managing virtualized systems.     Eltek Valere Announces New "Green" Product
    Richardson, Texas-based Eltek Valere, a developer of DC power supplies for the data center market, said this morning that it has shipped what it calls a new "green" version of the firm's power conversion products. According to Eltek Valere, its new V-Series HE rectifiers are drop-in replacements for wireless and remote terminal power systems.
