 Friday, June 20, 2008 Bazaarvoice Raises $7.1M Austin-based Bazaarvoice, a provider of e-commerce software, said Friday that it has raised $7.1M in a third round of venture capital funding. The round came from Austin Ventures, Battery Ventures, First Round Capital, and European Founders Fund. The new round of funding brings the company's total capital raised to around $19.9M; the firm last raised a round of funding in September of 2007. Siminoff to the company's board of directors. Siminoff is President and CEO of online educational website Shmoop University. She also served as Chairman of Efficient Frontier, and has also previously served at Yahoo. The firm said that it has hired on Kirk Brown as Director of Critical Infrastructure Sales, Carl DeGroat as Director of Government Sales, Michael Scaeffer as National Gaming Director, and Stu Taylor as International Sales Director. The Eclipse project is an open source, integrated development environment (IDE). According to Freescale, it will provide an integrated suite of plug-ins into the Eclipse software platform. Those plug-ins will help developers with Freescale's semiconductors. Pluck said that the Dallas Cowoys will use the firm's Pluck SiteLife product across its web sites. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Pluck's software adds comments, photo and video sharing, blogs, social networking, and other social media features to web sites.
