RipCode said that MySpace is the largest video Internet site to use its appliance-based solution for video transcoding. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. ISDC software's software is used by trucking carriers to minimize fuel and out-of-route costs. Idearc explained that the acquisition should result in an increase in quality organic traffic that it will monetize through its existing infrastructure, advertiser base and product demand. The Austin, Texas-based company said it has hired Carlos Garcia as general manager of its access product business, which includes voice and modem products. Silicon Labs also said it has promoted Mark Thompson to the role of general manager for its broadcast audio business, which includes the FM tuner and transmitter product lines.
