NEC, Texas State University In Sensor Research Deal

NEC Corporation, which has its US headquarters in Irving, and Texas State University said Tuesday that the two are in a collaborate research and development deal, focused on "social infrastructure" operation and management. The two said that the research effort will go towards improving such areas as water conservation and resource management by using NEC's technology. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The two said that NEC and Texas State will work together to identify opportunities to perform testing related to advanced water conservation technology, including developing technology around water leak detection using high precision sensors.
