Microtune Ships 150M TV Tuners
Plano-based Microtune, a developer of semiconductors for the RF market, said this morning that it has now shipped more than one hundred fifty million of its chips. The firm claimed the shipments numbers reaffirm the firm's position as the leading supplier of silicon TV tuner technology worldwide. Microtune's radio frequency (RF) chips are used to replace older, non-integrated TV tuner technology in televisions, cable set-top boxes, and other electronics.
