MediMobile's SafeTextMD Targets Secure Healthcare Messaging
Healthcare professionals wishing they had a way to use their mobile phone to communicate with others about patient conditions have a big problem: a still set of regulations, in the form of HIPAA, which prevents them from sharing personal details over text messaging or other communications. A possible solution? A new software product from Georgetown, Texas-based MediMobile, which says it has launched a new, free secure messaging app called SafeTextMD, which lets healthcare professionals send messages form both their iOS or Android device. MediMobile said the app lets users send text and photo messages, via Apple and Android devices and the web. The new app is aimed at care providers, administrators, support staff and medical billers. MediMobile looks to be using the app to attract users to its other products and consulting services.
