Austin-based Macheen, the developer of a cloud service for connecting laptops, tablets, and other consumer electronics to the Internet, said today that it has launched in the U.S. market, via a link with telecom carrier Sprint. Macheen said it is providing mobile broadband connectivity via the Sprint network, using CDMA. Macheen's service pre-wires products via Sprint's network to manufacturers and the Internet. Macheen also has been deployed in Europe since February. The firm is venture backed by DFJ Mercury, North Bridge Venture Capital, and Tom Meredith, Mike Maples Sr., and Yechiam Yemini.
