M87 Scoops Up $3M From Qualcomm, Others

Austin-based M87, a developer of wireless network infrastructure software, has raised $3M in a Series A funding. The funding came from Qualcomm Ventures and 21Vianet, as well as angels. M87 is a spinout of the University of Texas, and is focused on improving the coverage and capacity of current wireless networks, using technology which creates a mesh of devices which share access to the network. M87 had also raised around a half a million in the Longhorn Startup Challenge last year. More information »
