Loku Debuts Mobile Site To Keep Up With The Local Vibe

Austin-based, which provides an online site focused on surfacing information on local activities, places and events, said Tuesday that it has launched a new mobile site for the Apple iPhone and Android devices. The firm said that its HTML5-based web site allows both iPhone and Android browsers to access it service, which lets people share and comment on nearby events, music, food, news, and more. Loku's site--which is reminiscent of Pinterest--highlights photos of local happenings, and allows users to vote for their favorites, see maps, recommend things to others, and more. The company's CEO is Dan Street. Loku said it is initially providing its app for San Francisco, New York, Austin, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington DC, with other cities to be added during this year.
