Interphase Ships Packet Processing Hardware
Plano, Texas-based Interphase, a provider of networking hardware, said earlier this week that it is shipping a new set of packet acceleration modules for AdvancedTCA, MicroTCA, and PCI-x systems. The firm said that its new family of products is based on technology from Cavium Networks. The hardware is used for security, packet inspection, packet and network routing, and other functions for Gigabit Ethernet networks. The products include the iSPAN 36CA for AdvancedTCA, and iSPAN 55CA for PCI-x modules. AdvancedTCA is a hardware interface typically used for telecommunications equipment; PCI-x is usually used in rackmount servers.
